"Erosion of beach sand along the shores of Tria Island is a serious threat to our island and our tourist industry. In order to stop the erosion, we should charge people for using the beaches. Although this solution may annoy a few tourists in the short term, it will reduce the number of people using the beaches and will raise money for replenishing the sand. Replenishing the sand, as was done to protect buildings on the nearby island of Batia, will help protect buildings along our shores, thereby reducing these buildings' risk of additional damage from severe storms. And since the areas along the shore will be more attractive as a result, the beaches will be preserved and the area's tourist industry will improve over the long term."

다음은 Tria 섬의 관광부 책임자에게 보낸 편지이다.
"섬 해안을 따라 펼쳐져 있는 해변가의 모래가 침식되는 것은 우리 섬뿐만 아니라 관광산업에 있어서 아주 심각한
일입니다. 이러한 침식을 막으려면, 이용객들이게 해변 사용료를 부과해야 합니다. 이러한 방안이 당장에는 일부
관광객들의 불만을 살 수 있으나, 해변을 찾는 관광객의 수를 줄일 수 있는데다가 모래를 다시 채우는데 드는 비용을
마련할 수 있을 것입니다. 모래를 다시 채우는 것은, 가까운 Batia 섬에서 건축이 금지되었던 것처럼, 이 곳 섬에서 건축을
억제하는 작용을 할 것이며, 그에 따라 강풍에 의한 건물 피해를 줄일 수 있게 될 것입니다. 해안지역이 아름답기 때문에,
해변은 보호되어야 하며, 관광산업도 장기적으로는 증가할 것입니다."

결론
In order to stop the erosion, we should charge people for using the beaches.

반박
1) 결국 관광객들이 돌아오지 않을수도 있다.
생각보다 돈이 잘 안벌어져 모래를 채우는 돈을 마련하는데 시간이 오래걸릴수 있다.
2) 아름답게 보인다고 해서 보존되는 것은 아니다.

1. 사용료의 부과로 인해서 수익이 안날 수도 있다.( 관광객의 감소가 더욱 극심해져 적당한 수입이 안날 수 있다.)
2. 수익이 증가한다고 해도 모래를 채우기에는 역부족일 수 있다.
3. Bad analogy- Batia 섬과는 상황이 다를수 있다.(해안 주변에 건물이 원래 별로 없어서 별다른 도움이 안될수 있다.)
4. 사람들이 해변을 찾는 이유가 해변의 모래가 큰 원인이 아닐수 있다.(주변 경관이라든지 멋진 나무가 많아서 자주 찾을 수도 있다.)
